Inspiring Guest Lecture at DES’s NMITD- Turning Socially Relevance Ideas into Research Projects
DES’s NMITD was honored to welcome Prof. Ameya Sunil Mahajan, Director – Centre for Experiential Learning Research & Practice and संचालक – जागृती स्पर्धा परीक्षा मार्गदर्शन केंद्र, टिटवाळा, for a guest lecture held on 22nd August 2025, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
In his engaging session on “Turning Socially Relevance Ideas into Research Projects”, Prof. Mahajan encouraged students to think beyond academics and explore ways to transform meaningful ideas into impactful research.
Prof. Mahajan highlighted how research can go beyond theoretical exploration to create meaningful social impact. He emphasized that academic projects should not only contribute to knowledge but also address pressing issues in society such as sustainability, education, healthcare, digital inclusion, and community development.
Through real-world examples and practical insights, he encouraged students to identify challenges in their surroundings and transform them into structured research projects that can lead to innovative, implementable solutions. This approach not only bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-life application but also nurtures socially responsible professionals who contribute to nation-building.
The lecture inspired students to look at research as a tool for positive change—where ideas rooted in empathy, awareness, and responsibility can drive impactful outcomes for communities.
