Navadurga 2025 Celebration at DES’s NMITD
DES’s NMITD joyfully celebrated Navadurga 2025 with devotion, cultural fervor, and traditional splendor. The event commenced with the auspicious Lighting of the Lamp Ceremony, graced by esteemed dignitaries — Prabhatai Shirke (Chief Guest), Adv. Shree Neel Helekar (Trustee, DES), Dr. M. V. Kekare (DES Council Member and CDC Chairman, NMITD), and Dr. Rasika Mallya (In-charge Director, NMITD).
Organized under the guidance of Dr. Sulakshana Vispute, Cultural Committee Convenor, the celebration paid tribute to the nine divine forms of Goddess Durga through vibrant performances, devotional offerings, and cultural showcases presented by students. Seventy-five girls and seven boys from NMITD participated enthusiastically.
A key highlight of the event was the portrayal of nine unsung heroines by nine girls, each donning sarees representing symbolic colors that reflected the essence and strength of the personality they embodied. These nine girls presented nine Durgas under the able mentorship of the female faculty members of the institute.
The following girls participated in this inspiring segment, presenting their respective Durgas:
- Sneha Zalte – Prabha Shirke (Social Work)
- Vaishnavi Patekar – Triveni Acharya
- Nandini Chaudhari – Capt. Shiva Chouhan (Army)
- Sanjeevani Jarhad – Nandini Jadhav (Superstition Fighter)
- Shruti Kamble – Ashwini Bhide (Administrative Services & Transport)
- Aishwarya Yeole – Malvika Iyer (Social Work & Motivational Speaker)
- Ketaki Mohite – Rahibai Soma Popere (Farmer & Conservationist)
- Siddhi Walawalkar – IPS Sagarika Nath
- Adifa Ansari – Akansha Kumari (Women Empowerment)
These performances were meticulously curated based on extensive research into the lives and achievements of the selected heroines, highlighting their courage, resilience, and contributions to society.
The event emphasized the spiritual significance of Navadurga while fostering a sense of unity, positivity, and cultural pride among participants. Traditional rituals, music, and dance performances such as Folk-Akhyan, Skit, Mangala Gaur, Ghoomar, and Garba reflected the essence of India’s rich heritage and the institute’s commitment to holistic development beyond academics.
DES’s NMITD extends heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, students, and organizers for their enthusiastic participation in making the Navadurga 2025 Celebration a memorable and spiritually enriching experience.
