EUREKA 2025: Where Design Meets Business – Igniting Innovation and Entrepreneurship at NMITD

The E-Cell Committee of Deccan Education Society’s Navinchandra Mehta Institute of Technology and Development (NMITD), under the banner of Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University (RTMSSU), successfully organized EUREKA 2025: Where Design Meets Business, an ideation competition designed to foster innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit among students.
The event was conducted on 7th November 2025 in Classroom E15 from 11:00 a.m. onwards. It served as a dynamic platform for students to present innovative ideas that seamlessly integrated design, functionality, and business viability.
The session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Rasika Mallya, In-Charge Director, NMITD. A total of 10 teams (34 participants) showcased their ideas, each allotted 7 minutes for presentation followed by a 3-minute Q&A session with the judging panel.
The competition featured several out-of-the-box ideas such as Breadth, Solar Share System, and CareMitra – an app providing caretakers for patients. Participants demonstrated commendable communication, design thinking, and entrepreneurial zeal throughout the event.
👨💼 Judging Panel:
The session was chaired by Mr. Vivek Bhattacharya, Founder, BHARAT CXO, who evaluated the business pitching presentations and shared valuable insights. He was joined by Dr. Sulakshana Vispute, Head, MCA Department, and Dr. Rahul Wadekar, Head, MMS Department, who offered constructive feedback and expert guidance to the participants.
The judges appreciated the creativity, originality, and clarity of ideas and encouraged students to refine their concepts for potential incubation.

🏆 Results:
- Winner: Breath – Nadar Vaishnavi, Anushka Shetty, Bhakti Thakur, Sadiya Shaikh 🥇 (Cash Prize: ₹5,000)
- Runner-Up: CareMitra – Sushil Kamble, Chinmay Patil 🥈 (Cash Prize: ₹3,000)
The competition successfully enhanced students’ understanding of entrepreneurship, innovation, and design thinking. It provided them with hands-on experience in pitching, teamwork, and practical business ideation, aligning with NMITD’s mission of promoting experiential and outcome-based learning.
EUREKA 2025 was a resounding success, achieving its goal of inspiring students to think innovatively and approach real-world problems with an entrepreneurial mindset. The event concluded with appreciation for all participants who contributed to fostering a culture of creativity and innovation at DES’s NMITD. 🎉
