Date: Friday, 6th March 2026
Organized by: NMITD Cultural Committee
NMITD successfully organized the 14th edition of RoobaRoo on Friday, 6th March 2026, with the inspiring theme “Unnoticed India – Purpose Over Popularity.” The event aimed to celebrate hidden talents, grassroots creativity, and the collaborative spirit of students. RoobaRoo 2026 provided a vibrant platform for students to demonstrate their abilities in leadership, innovation, event planning and management, coordination, communication, and problem-solving.
The event was initiated and conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sulakshana Vispute, Convener – Cultural Committee, with the support of Dr. Rasika Mallya, I/c Director, and Dr. Rahul Wadekar, HOD – MMS Department, along with the dedicated efforts of teaching and non-teaching staff and enthusiastic student volunteers.
RoobaRoo 2026 commenced with an enthusiastic inauguration ceremony in the presence of Dr. Rasika Mallya (I/c Director), Dr. Sulakshana Vispute (Convener – Cultural Committee), Dr. Minal Mapuskar (Vice Principal, Kirti College), Dr. Giribala Devasthali (Director, J.S. Kothari Business School), and Dr. Rahul Wadekar (HOD – MMS Department), along with other respected faculty members and staff.
A meaningful act was presented by the boys of NMITD — Mr. Sahil Borkar, Mr. Vinit Dabholkar, Mr. Sahil Babar, Mr. Tushar Godge, and Mr. Pratham Handa. Their performance highlighted the importance of respecting individuals whose contributions often go unnoticed in society. The act portrayed the everyday efforts of people such as sweepers, delivery personnel, farmers, and watchmen, emphasizing how these individuals play a vital role in our daily lives yet rarely receive the recognition they deserve. The performance conveyed a powerful message about gratitude, dignity of labor, and social awareness, perfectly aligning with the theme of the event.
Adding emotional depth to the program, Ms. Namrata Salunkhe, a student of NMITD, presented a heartfelt poetry recital dedicated to mothers. Her poem focused on the countless sacrifices and silent contributions made by mothers that often remain unnoticed and unappreciated. The performance beautifully captured the emotional strength, love, and dedication of mothers and resonated deeply with the audience.
The fest witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 500 students representing various undergraduate and postgraduate colleges across Mumbai. The campus was filled with excitement as participants engaged in a wide range of competitive and recreational activities.
