Dr. Sulakshana Vispute is a distinguished academician, researcher, administrator, and education leader with over 20 years of postgraduate teaching experience in Computer Applications. She currently serves as DES’s Prabandhak, Head of the Department (MCA), and Assistant Professor at DES’s Navinchandra Mehta Institute of Technology and Development (NMITD), Mumbai.
She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Data Mining from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), along with a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and a Master of Computer Management (M.C.M.).
She plays a pivotal role in academic leadership and institutional development. As the Head of the MCA Department, she serves as the Convener for Academic Coordination, Examination, Innovation and Creativity, Cultural Activities, Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR), Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), and NBA Accreditation. She is also an active member of the IQAC and Alumni Cell. In addition, she oversees AASTHA, the counselling and student wellness centre for DES’s Mumbai Campus, fostering students’ academic, personal, and emotional well-being.
Her teaching and research interests include Educational Data Mining, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Data Mining, Database Management Systems, Advanced Database Management Systems, Python Programming, Data Science, and Learning Analytics.
She has made significant contributions to higher education through curriculum development and academic governance. She has served as the Convener and Member of the University of Mumbai Syllabus-Setting Committees for several MCA subjects, including Advanced Database Management Systems, Natural Language Processing, Data Structures, and Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR), contributing to the design of industry-relevant and outcome-based curricula.
An active researcher, she has published more than 20 research papers, including publications in SCOPUS, Web of Science, and UGC-CARE Listed journals. Her research focuses on Educational Data Mining, Artificial Intelligence, and technology-enabled learning methodologies. Her notable achievements include:
