KATHA 2026 – Management Lessons through Storytelling
MMS Semester II Experiential Learning Initiative
10th February 2026 | 0.8 Auditorium | 9:30 AM
The auditorium came alive with history, wisdom, and powerful narratives as MMS Semester II students presented KATHA 2026 – Management Lessons through Storytelling, an innovative experiential learning initiative at NMITD.
KATHA continues to serve as a distinctive pedagogical platform where management concepts are explored through the art of storytelling. This year, students brought to life inspiring personalities and timeless characters such as Ahilyabai Holkar, Akbar–Birbal, Savitribai Phule, and Chanakya, creatively interpreting their stories to highlight relevant management principles.
Through the story of Ahilyabai Holkar, students emphasized visionary leadership, resilience, and ethical governance. The witty exchanges of Akbar and Birbal illustrated decision-making skills, presence of mind, and problem-solving abilities. Narratives on Savitribai Phule showcased courage, social responsibility, and transformational leadership, while the wisdom of Chanakya reflected strategic thinking, planning, and statecraft — qualities highly relevant to modern management practices.
Adding a modern perspective, the story of Sudha Murthy emphasized humility, empathy, corporate social responsibility, and values-driven leadership. Her journey served as a reminder that success in management is deeply rooted in integrity, compassion, and social commitment.
The performances went beyond narration, incorporating expressive dialogue, voice modulation, costumes, and stage presence, thereby enhancing the immersive learning experience. The enactments demonstrated how storytelling can effectively bridge theoretical concepts with practical managerial insights.
KATHA 2026 once again reinforced the institute’s commitment to experiential learning and holistic development. By integrating culture, history, and management education, students not only deepened their conceptual understanding but also strengthened essential skills such as communication, teamwork, creativity, and confidence.
The event concluded on an inspiring note, reaffirming that powerful stories — when thoughtfully interpreted — can shape responsible, ethical, and visionary future managers.
